  • 1/4 cup heat water

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1/4 cup + 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 1 egg
  • Powdered sugar for dusting


  1. In a big bowl, mix water, yeast and 1 tablespoon sugar. Let sit for five minutes till yeast will get foamy.
