“I did it simply because I like profitable” – Jonas Vingegaard places the cherry on the cake with Tirreno-Adriatico stage win



A dominant stage win by Jonas Vingegaard on stage six of Tirreno-Adriatico despatched a message to all who want to problem him at this 12 months’s Tour de France, as he dropped all of his GC rivals on the slopes of Monte Petrano to take back-to-back victories on the Italian stage race.

With tomorrow’s closing stage round San Benedetto del Tronto set to finish in a dash, the Visma-Lease a Bike rider’s normal classification victory is all however confirmed, as barring any crashes he might be declared the general winner of the race.
