For the twenty sixth time within the males’s Amstel Gold Race, Limburg’s capital metropolis Maastricht will function the beginning location, from the centre on the Markt and Vrijthof in 2024. The end of the Amstel Gold Race will stay in Valkenburg, although it has been tweaked over time.
Starting in 2003, the end line was crossed after cresting the signature Cauberg climb. Then a decade later, the end was moved 1.8km past the highest of the hill to Valkenburg. That lasted one 12 months, and since 2017 the ultimate climb of the Cauberg results in one other 19km, the Geulhemmerberg and Bemelerberg climbs taking the peloton to the end.
The Cauberg stays within the last circuits as organisers try and make the race much less predictable and extra thrilling.
The peloton will cross the end line twice, as soon as at 79.2km to go, and the penultimate time at 16km to go. The 800-metre climb of the Cauberg at 6.5% common gradient and a max 12.8%, will probably be confronted twice, at 81km to go and 18km to go. The ultimate end loop will embody the Geulhemmerberg (14km out) and the Bemelerberg (7km out) climbs.
